The CBS story below may seem like a rather innocuous little story, but for those of us watching prophecy, it is more confirmation of the soon coming prophetic fulfillment of the Book of Revelation.
There was a long stretch in the nineteen eighties, being the bible prophecy junkie that I was, where I scoured newspaper articles, libraries and bookstores for relevant news pointing to the “end of days” or what some may call the “Apocalypse” (no zombies necessary) as described in the book of Revelation, Matthew 24 and other prophetic texts of scripture. Of importance to me then was to notice any moves or initiatives from the U.S. or the world generally to move globally towards a cashless society. Deducing from scripture and connecting the dots that the coming antichrist of Revelation fame will have a one world economic system facilitated by a “mark” of some sort that is in (or possibly on) the hand or forehead of virtually all humanity (with the exception of those refusing to submit to this coming global leader, the result of which is not optimum from human terms to say the least). Revelation 13:16-17 put it like this:
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
