With Assad on the front foot in Syria what could he possibly have to gain from using chemical weapons? He’s already winning without using them and knows the west will only use it as more justification to intervene so why would he do it? The only group to gain from using chemical weapons to then blame it on Assad are obviously the jihadist ‘rebels’ who have already been caught in Turkey with sarin gas
