Connecticut – While the vote to pass expanded background checks and other knee-jerk gun control measures might have failed, the war on gun owners and our industry is far from over.
President Obama, Vice President Biden, Mayor Bloomberg and Senator Schumer have vowed to press on in their fight for tougher gun laws in the months ahead. And they are putting their collective money where their mouths are.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Organizing for Action (President Obama’s lobbying group) and Americans for Responsible Solutions (led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly) are pooling their resources to attack senators who defied them by voting to protect our businesses and livelihoods and uphold the Second Amendment.
These brave senators earnestly listened to and nobly voted in a manner consistent with the will of their constituents. They took an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States” and are now being bullied by a Chicago politician, a New York Senator, a big city mayor and their cronies for abiding by that oath.

Some key anti-gun senators are not discouraged by last week’s votes and are treating this as halftime. They have stated, ”…[W]e’re going to bring this bill back before the end of the year… .” We would be foolish and naive if we did not press on as well.
