Medical Alert (Novel Coronavirus or NCoV is 50% lethal)
New information is coming out about a deadly virus that was identified in 2012. This virus has been named Novel Coronavirus. This virus comes from the same families that causes the common cold and SARS. Not much is known about this virus and that is the scary part, according to a member of the CDC.
Also note that the death rate so far is about 50%, now remember so far only 13 people have contracted this virus. So far it is very rare occurrences, but if this virus gets into the main stream like the common cold then we could be looking at some serious problems.
So far normal flu prevention protocols have seemed to have been successful in preventing this new virus from spreading. This means that if this situation becomes worst or enters the main stream, covering your cough, wearing a N99 Mask and hand washing procedures will no longer just keep you from getting the flu, but it could mean the difference between life or death.
Our Family Emergency Plans must address these items and how to train our children on these protocols, because one day soon it might be life or death.
