Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad has said that the recent meeting of the Syrian opposition in Qatar’s capital Doha amounted to a “declaration of war” against Damascus.

Miqad said on Wednesday that since the four-day meeting in the Qatari capital, Doha, rejected any dialogue with the Damascus government to end the crisis and instead called for the continuation of fighting inside the country, it amounts to “declaration of war.”

“The Doha meeting was a declaration of war. These people (the opposition) don’t want to solve the issue peacefully through the mechanisms of the UN,” Miqdad said, adding that “We read the Doha document and they reject any dialogue with the government.”
