6.0 magnitude earthquake strikes off coast of Japan

JAPAN – An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 struck northern Japan on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There was no risk of a tsunami. No injuries or damage were immediately reported. The epicenter was off the coast of Iwate, which was a region that was heavily damaged by last year’s massive quake and tsunami. –ABC7
