Top Coastal Researcher: “MUCH of the OIL that is presently in the Gulf WILL be washed back ON SHORE” after storms

Gregory Stone is director of Louisiana State University’s Coastal Studies Institute and experienced the Exxon Valdez disaster while on the ground in Alaska. “His research interests are in coastal processes and storm effects and hydrodynamics along beaches. He is also founder and Director of the WAVCIS (wave-current-surge information system for coastal Louisiana) laboratory at LSU,” according to

The International Business Times reported, “That when [Stone] flew over the Gulf of Mexico in late August, he saw ‘clouds’ of oil… He also says there are regions where oil has gathered on top of the sediment. It’s only a matter of time before some of it washes up on shore again, probably after a storm.”
